Family Bible Conference
July 25 - 28, 2016
In conjunction with the ARP Women's Ministry, CEM holds an annual conference held at Bonclarken Conference Center in Flat Rock, NC. Our goal is to make learning fun for the spiritual growth of family members of all ages and to encourage families in their walk with Christ.
Dr. Rosaria Butterfield
Rosaria Butterfield was once a tenured professor of English who identified as a lesbian and worked to advance the cause of LGBT equality. After her conversion to Christ in 1999, she came to see the sinfulness of having any identity apart from Him. Rosaria is married to Kent Butterfield, pastor of the First Reformed Presbyterian Church of Durham, and is a home-school mother, pastor's wife, author, and speaker. She is helping Christians to better understand their LGBT neighbors and loved ones so that we can lovingly look past labels of sexual identity and share the gospel effectively. In her two books, Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert (Crown and Covenant, 2012) and Openness Unhindered (Crown and Covenant, 2015), she writes about sexuality, identity, Christian community, and seeks to encourage all in faithful Christian living and service.
Dr. Stephen Myers
Dr. Stephen Myers is pastor of Pressly Memorial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Statesville, NC, and visiting professor of theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte. In addition to these duties, Dr. Myers is active on the presbytery and synod levels of the ARP Church and teaches at Ukraine Biblical Seminary in Kiev. Dr. Myers’ particular interests and research are in covenant theology, Christology, and the doctrine of Scripture and he is committed to helping students learn how to apply rich theological truths in their preaching and their pastoral care. Dr. Myers and his wife, Lisa, have three children.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
